1280 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.16/MH. {M. Huckerby} Experimental Dept. 11th. May 1938. Messrs. Serck Radiators Ltd., Warwick Road, BIRMINGHAM, 11. For the attention of Mr.C.L.Terry. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of 10th. inst. and enclosed drawings which we have noted. Referring to this and the writer's discussion with you when he visited your works last Tuesday, we have decided not to ask you to make a sample Bentley radiator at present owing to the fact that the question of appearance etc. is not sufficiently settled. However, we thank you for your offer and will bear it in mind if we need the radiator in question. We would, however, like you to supply us with a sample matrix for test purposes, and the matrix dimensions shown on your drawing J.53 will be satisfactory - we will send you an official order for this block. We do not wish you to fit any tanks to this matrix but only tube plates to enable the matrix to be fitted to our tanks by ourselves. We show on attached sketch the way these tube plates should be made and attach herewith prints of our bottom tank, top tank and matrix top plate so that you can get the dimensions of the tube plates. With regard to the estimate for production supply of the radiator, drawings of which we left with you, we would like you to hold this up - we will shortly send you drawings of a revised version of the radiator for which we would like you to quote, as it is more likely to be the final article. | ||
