narrow at the centre of the crown and wide nearest the cylinder wall. An original construction fault, - now having attention.

The pistons and rings were exceptionally good and the combustion chamber particularly free from carbon deposit.

Lubrication was very good, except for the air pump drive which was certainly short. The point has already been taken up by the Experimental Dept. and alterations are now in hand.

A preliminary run was made with an engine of this type. Full report was made out of all faults and such features that could be altered were altered before we commenced the official test.

There are also several small features which still require completion, and which are now in hand. We have every hope of commencing deliveries this week, if we can get the engines completed.

Brazil Straker's chief tester has been here during the tuning up, preparing and taking of this official test. Some of their fitters also worked on the dismantling of the engine after the test.
