X632 #1623 Re Machine Tools. TBB2/L22812. Mr Royce 22.8.12: With reference to your note of August 15th in which you ask for a report on the progress of the cylinder boring machine and the moving carriage and jig for drilling frame side members. I understand from Mr Moon that the cylinder boring machine has been roughly schemed but requires some revision. He is afraid that the controls which are located near each of the three heads will be somewhat inconvenient for operation, and he is of the opinion that all the controls should be brought to one point. He has not been able to do any work on this machine for some months owing to the pressure of jig work. Mr Nadin is arranging to provide suitable assistance to enable Mr Moon to again tackle this job.
