TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: 'DUNLOPS, PHONE, BIRMINGHAM' TELEPHONE: BIRMINGHAM CENTRAL 4108 (P.B.E) EXTENSION No. YOUR REF: OUR REF WB{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}/W.9.66 FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM 6th June 1930. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. For attention of Mr. Robotham. Dear Sirs, We beg to acknowledge receipt of your favour of the 4th inst. (ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MJ) on the subject of the modified tread Silent tyres. Mr. Paull is at present away on the Continent on business and we should be glad if you would, therefore, permit us to defer a definite reply until his return, which is expected on Wednesday next. We have noted with many thanks your agreement on the out-of-balance question, and the enhanced figure which you now permit will be of considerable use to us. At the same time, we would mention that we are giving special attention to the matter of out-of-balance in tyres, and have no doubt whatever that we shall be able to work to considerably lower limits than the 110 inch pounds referred to. We are taking it that there is a clerical error in the description, and that you really intend to say 'inch ounces'. Yours faithfully, for DUNLOP RUBBER COMPANY LTD., W Bond. Development Manager. | ||
