X1452 To ACL. From HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/MJ.17.9.29. X1452 x 3603. (1) A clearer explanation of why the expanding choke carburetter should not function well on the road giving HP. shewn in curve (1). (2) Is not the Claudel curve flattering?. Surely its choke is too big for the road work and is arranged more for maximum power. The Solex, on the other hand, is definately fitted with small chokes to give snap road acceleration with no flat spots. Should not larger chokes be fitted to the solex and an explanation given that all carburetters except standard are fitted up for maximum power irrespective of metering and acceleration characteristics. Can we get any idea from the test bed of how the Claudel with maximum chokes compares with the Solex for metering? HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
