X8710 W/S. To C. from EFC. C. WOT. C. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} EFCB/AD20.5.30. X.8710. IGNITION COILS. We have received your C8/C19.5.30 and are pleased to have some first-hand evidence of a descriptive nature regarding the failures complained of, as it usually happens that the reports from outside which we receive state that such end such failures have occurred with little or no technical description of the symptoms. As a matter of fact, in view of the fact that there has been a certain amount of trouble with ignition coils we already have the whole matter under thorough investigation. In regard to the intermittent nature of the failure we will write you further about this when we have received, inspected and tested the faulty parts which we understand Cricklewood will send to us. In regard to your fourth paragraph, it is to be noted that the specification of ignition coils has recently been considerably improved in the matter of utilising tubular bases for both the primary and the secondary windings. This has been recently standardised. EFC. | ||
