84615 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA.4.11.33. ALKLUM BATTERIES. Referring to the visit of the representatives from the Alklum Storage Batteries Ltd. and their subsequent letter to us sent out under cover of Roy.{Sir Henry Royce}14/MG.27.10.33 we have now carefully analysed the particulars given compared with the battery of similar ampere hour capacity used on the Rolls-Royce 20/25 chassis. The attached table gives full particulars of each battery for comparison from which it will be seen that the Alklum battery for practically the same electrical performance weighs approx. 30 lbs. more than the 20/25 battery, is considerably more bulky and costs almost three times as much. Under the circumstances therefore we recommend that we go no further with these people in regard to accepting a trial battery from them. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
