Re: 20 H.P. Car. 10,000 mile test 1644 (GUK-34)

Your memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}11/H19626 received.

It would appear that the use of the word 'India' in some of the correspondence concerning this chassis has been interpreted as meaning that it was required for India, as you state that in accordance with Indian specification it is fitted with Louvred bonnet and strong springs.

If this louvred bonnet is of the new pattern with the louvres half worked in and half worked out, it will be useful to test, but otherwise a louvred bonnet is not required.

As regards the springs I will advise Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} as soon as possible of the exact type of body and approximate weight which is being fitted so that the correct springs may be prepared and fitted when the car returns to Derby for the experimental features to be added.

CWB.
