Dear Sirs,

FB. 2206 - Adjusting Bellows for Filler Tube.

We thank you for your letter of the 5th instant, and the enclosed sample bellows. This bellows seems a very sound job, but suffers from two defects.

(1) We cannot give it the maximum amount of bend (in the form of permanent set) that we are likely to require because of the convolutions on the inside of the bend coming choc-a-block. We think that this could be improved by using a smaller number of convolutions. Enclosed is a sketch showing the maximum amount of curvature that we are likely to require from the bellows. It will be appreciated that in order to give the bellows this amount of permanent set, it must be possible to bend it even more than is shown on this sketch. We would be prepared to lose some flexibility for this purpose.

(2) The internal diameter of the tube at the ends of the bellows is approximately 2.610". This would necessitate a lot of redesign and new parts making. We would
