BENTLEY LAMPS. Yesterday Mr. Thacker of Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd. called on us and we took the opportunity of raising the question of the headlamps for Bentleys. Mr. Thacker told us that, on the assumption you approve of the sample pair of new pattern lamps - which we understand have already been sent to you - deliveries can commence during the fourth week of this month. This sounds fairly satisfactory. If you do indeed approve of the sample pair of lamps and Lucas can commences deliveries as Mr. Thacker stated, it means that the new lamps should be available in time to fit to the first car to go on the road. If for any reason at all the new pattern lamps are not ready by the time the first few cars are completed, then Mr. Thacker agreed that if such cars are fitted with lamps of the old inefficient type and the customers complain Lucas will replace them later on with others of the new improved pattern without expense to us or the customers.
