SpectreCodename for Phantom III - Clutch.

Herewith is N Sch.4229 showing the design of single plate clutch revised to eliminate the flexible centre & the spring back-plate, and also to incorporate one or two simplifications in the design.

One thing we have not done is to provide a sheet metal pressed cover plate, as on 20/25 and Bentley. The reason for this is that diameter of the driven plate is so important on this high-torque clutch that we have not felt justified in sacrificing any of it so as to use a sheet metal cover-plate, so we have retained the steel forging but lightened and somewhat simplified.

The corresponding reduced outer casing is following in a short time.
