X.4190. GUDGEON PIN KNOCKS.

Mr. Platford is frequently bringing to our notice cases of Cars developing Gudgeon Pin knocks and which customers are complaining of. We have cured a number of our own Cars and the London Trials Cars by changing the gudgeon pins for pins in which the locking screw expands the end of the pin. We are sending a sample of this to Mr. Royce. Sets of these gudgeon pins have been fitted to six different cars - the total mileage is approx; 30,000 miles.

We should like to know from Mr. Royce whether he approves of us fitting these gudgeon pins to overcome customers complaints.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
