X5300 He/GR.{George Ratcliffe}1/AJ.2.10.30. x634 x5300 FLYWHEEL VIBRATIONS ON 25 HP. Continuing our report He/GR{George Ratcliffe}/AJ.2.10.30. on flywheel vibrations, we have made the following further experiments. - (1) To obviate the constraint of our straight through drive from crankshaft to gearbox we fixed this drive to the flywheel by rubber bushes. The usual period was still present beginning at 2900 R.P.M. (2) Retaining rubber mounted drive and removing clutch parts, the period still began at 2900 R.P.M. (3) Increasing the overhang of the flywheel by 1/2" does not effect the period. (4) Towing the car with pistons and connecting rods absent the period is still unaltered. | ||
