H. Coverley - Production Engineer} HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.15.11.34. Rear Damper Suspension - SpectreCodename for Phantom III. Will you kindly bring this into line with the Bentley (shown by N. Sch.4110) as regards the conical fixings which have passed 10,000 miles test and appear to be quite satisfactory. The SpectreCodename for Phantom III layout appears to require a few differences compared with Bentley, as follows:- (1) Both supporting plates should be retained with unaltered thickness. (2) The boss on the damper body at the front end should be shortened so that the side plates need have no set. The steel stamping for the front suspension should be shortened by the same amount. (3) The lugs on the crossmember should be on the outsides of the plates as they are now but they need not have more than .5" width of boss for brazing to the crossmember. (4) The steel stamping for the front end suspension does not require the extra bolt which is provided on the Bentley as it should only have vertical load to take. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
