RE "GOSHAWK II" BATTERY IGNITION. X.
RECEIVED
A simple battery ignition unit has been sketched for "Goshawk II". Mr. Royce proposes to use a carbon brush distributor of either cylindrical pattern as used on Bosch magnetos, or face pattern as used on the Packard Delco ignition.
Mr. Royce would like you to say what you think are the defects of the latter type. If the flat face carbon distributor were used, it would of course be carried out in a better manner than the Packard Delco. The same variety of cable connections would probably be used, but the rotor would be provided with a longer mounting on the spindle.
