(a) Larger Planet Pinion Roller Bearing.

(b) Friction held sunwheel anchorage or alternatively serrated coupling sunwheel anchorage. Both of these avoid the localisation of stress which occurs with the present Oldham Joint Carrier, and the former offers the additional advantage of limiting the torque due to shocks.

(c) Small planet pinion teeth shaped at ends after carborising to avoid chipping. Hardening not to be too deep and softcores to be carried right through to ends of teeth.

This design will be in Mr. Day's hands by Sunday 22nd. December, and we hope that detail drawings of the new parts will be handed to the shops by Monday, 30th December, so as to make an early start with the experimental production and test.

A blue print of the new design should be sent to Lieut.Col. Barrington as soon as possible.
