INSTRUMENT BOARD - CARBURETTOR CONTROL. X4240 X 4239 X 4067

The operating gear for the carburettor control is arranged horizontally, with the result that where the instrument board is inclined, as it is for D, steering, and as R, says it should be for B, the operating lever is not square with the instrument board. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, has just written to say that R, repudiates responsibility for this design, and is most emphatic that it is not to W.W. instructions.

We know that this is not open to question, we are therefore not wishing to argue the point, but we certainly must have a new design to replace this without delay, unless it is agreed by W.W. that I may be permitted at Derby to redesign such parts as are not agreed with. The drawing to which the parts were detailed is N. scheme 987.
