re Chassis 147 RY - R.Miesegaes Esq.
(Managing Director of
Dex Garages Ltd.)

The above owner, who is a very good friend of ours, was recently involved in an accident, and for the purposes of meeting a charge, he finds it necessary to produce figures showing at what distance a standard 40/50 H.P. Rolls-Royce chassis can be pulled up at varying speeds. In other words, he would like the braking distances at 40, 50, and 60 m.p.h.

Naturally these figures would be taken on a dry road of good surface, with good tyres, etc.

We are afraid we have no figures at this department that we can give to him, but we are wondering if you have any data which would be of help. Such figures would not be quoted as from Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd. but they would be helpful to his Counsel in proving that the car was pulled up reasonably from a given speed.

I believe the case is due to come on any day, and I shall be glad if you will be kind enough to let us have these figures by return if you have them available.
