(1) COLUMN CHANGE.

You will note the provisional price which has been given us by the Cost Department, for the column change which has already been designed.

Obviously, we cannot afford such an expensive item on the Myth.

Will you therefore please go into the question of doing a simplified column change to go with the small gear box.

We understand that the Chevrolet scheme works the best of those at present in existence and if you have not particulars we will endeavour to get hold of a car and let you make sketches.

It should not be necessary to have a servo operation with the small box.

It occurs to me that if we are definitely going for a column change it might pay us to put up the cone size on the small box if this enabled us to dispense with a servo.

(2) CONTROLS FOR THE STROMBERG CARBURETTOR 6-CYLINDER INDUCTION SYSTEM.

Scheme ECD.1523 does not make any provision for the electrically operated choke.

We have fitted Stromberg up on 3.B.50 and in order to incorporate this choke we have had to turn the carburettor round.

This may not be essential but we should like the man who drew the scheme up to examine 3.B.50 and give us a design which incorporates the automatic starting device.
