X4566 Rg.{Mr Rowledge} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hsl/LG12.12.22. "MAXIMA" CARBURETTER. With reference to the attached correspondence in regard to the above. From what we can see of the description of this carburetter it would not be suitable for our cars. We came to the conclusion some time ago that the only carburetter suitable for our cars is the expanding type. The Maxima carburetter appears to have a fixed size of throat, except that it has a butterfly valve in the air inlet connected to the throttle. We recommend that we explain to the Maxima people that there is very little chance of us ever using such a carburetter and we should not like to put them to any incon- venience or expense. We do not think it would serve any useful purpose to run a bench test - to do the job properly, it would take nearly a month. If they happen to be this way with a car fitted with a Maxima carburetter, we would be interested to try it. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
