| X339 Mr Barrington. May 21st 1912. RE AXLE STRAIN TESTS. Herewith further results re above on 1700 type axle, load applied on top of axle box. E.P. Tests were taken in the presence of Mr Bailey & yourself, the axle collapsed at the flanges connecting the tube to the axle. One side collapsing to a greater amount than the other. we are now measuring up & taking partics of damaged axle & will report further. | ||
