QUARTERLY COMPLAINTS - 40/50HP. Phantom.

From the records we have kept of cars received at W. during the quarter ending Sept. 30th, the following are the 12 worst points :-

Nature of Complaint. No. of Cars. Has a cure been found, or not?

Springing complaints. 13. No definite cure. Cannot hope to make a specification to suit everybody. Something we can never hope to cure absolutely on present design.

Noisy Tappets. 18. A new design is standardised which we hope will help things considerably.

Servo jaggers and squeaking. 11. [Handwritten text:] The new design of introducing Ferodo linings to the servo mechanism should obviate these noises.

Throttle sticks. 13. No definite cure yet.

Exhaust Butterfly Throttle sticks and squeaks. 6. No definite cure yet.

Steering. (various). 19. New design we hope will cure these.

Noisy Magnetos. 6. No definite cure yet.

Burning Platinum Points. 8. An oil seal is designed which we hope will help these.

Overoiling. 5. Fast dying out.

Poor petrol consumption. 8. Can generally be overcome by tuning up.

Heat inside body. 6. Cured by correct fitting coachwork.

Clutch troubles. 8. A new design has been made which we hope will cure the trouble.
