X.2565. "R" SERIES MATERIAL.

The following sections have been held in view of the possibility of the Experimental Dept. wishing to bring in improvements for the various sections on the above series.

e.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Push button switch. X.2641
Main switch. X.3660.
Actuating Box.
--------------------
Are we to proceed with the standard scheme as at present, with parallel circuits, or will the "Series" scheme be available.

f.{Mr Friese} Pistons. X.4146.
--------
We would remind you that your original proposed to do away with liners under the cylinders by moving the position of the Gudgeon Pin Boss in the piston has never been standardised.
It was put up for standardisation but turned down by CJt who insisted on completing the usual tests.
Since that decision, although we have raised the matter from time to time, we have gone no further with the scheme.

g.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Magnetos. X.430. X.4181.
---------
These are ordered to up 2200 chassis of the post-war programme, that is, approximately half way through "P" Series. The Order office are holding back these in case the Experimental Department wish to adopt the improved Watford or some other magneto.

Of course standardisation sheets will be required for all of the above items, and if there is no possibility of bringing in the parts referred to, for "R" series, we would like to know in order that we may release them to the Order Office who certainly will have to have them released in the near future from the point of view of obtaining material for the works.
