To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Wn. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.5.5.35. Re. SpectreCodename for Phantom III Licence. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/E.4.3.35. We have been guided by experience in registering expl. cars because we know what 'nosey' people look for. The J.111 was running for three or four years' registered as a Standard 25. The Vulture is at present running registered as a Standard Phantom. In the change over from the 20 HP. to 25 HP. a number of cars were running on 20 HP. licences. I had the experience on the Peregrine on two occasions of people pointing out the 17 HP. on the licence plate. We know that if anyone sees a car that looks at all a departure from Standard and at the same time is fitted with trade plates they immediately become inquisitive. What I am confident of, is that if we like to explain the matter to the licensing authorities there would be no difficulty whatsoever. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
