'SS{S. Smith}' SPRINGS.

The stock of S.S. springs should be kept down to the minimum because R.{Sir Henry Royce} has already instructed that the rating of them should be increased 10%. From his recent memos, it would appear that he considers our road springs too flexible. Our own opinion is that if we alter the setting of the shock dampers materially, we may have to go to higher rated springs.

We should like to know when we may expect a set of springs made with the higher rating.
