TESTS IN FRANCE. 48940

With reference to CWBL/LH{Mr Haworth}21.8.25. Our replies to the points raised are as follows :-

(1) Dunlop tyres.

(2) We have written to France to get the exact tyre pressures on the dates you mention. We will let you have this information as soon as it is received. Our instructions in the book are not very definite. The cars are only classified as 'open' and 'closed', therefore if the instructions were taken literally, in the case of the Cabriolet car, the tyre pressures would have to be altered depending upon whether the car was used open or closed.

(3) The tyres and wheels were not specially balanced. It was confirmed on later tests, that the reason why wobbles were reported one day and not the next was owing to the wheels being changed and the amount of out of balance of tyres varying.

(4) This is replied to in No.2.
