TYRES (Contd.) (2) Mr. Bailey was of the opinion that separate pumps should be used (if any) as the combination would render the petrol pressure system less reliable. The Committee suggested that it was possible to design a pump that would replace our present air pump, and would be suitable for pumping tyres by the use of a separate compression chamber, or perhaps by having two separate gears, one high speed and one low speed. Mr. Johnson said:- "Some time ago Mr. Royce considered a compressed air reservoir to blow tyres and to blow a whistle. Are there notes on this? If so, they should be studied." 89th Meeting Re Chassis 1694 Baron Korff. Nov. 29. 11. Mr. Spinney submitted some drawings concerning a Kellog tyre pump which he had made some time ago, but which had not been proceeded with. He asked the Committee if they proposed to utilise the designs made. Mr. Nadin informed the Committee that this chassis had been fitted up in an alternative manner, and the designs would not be required. 93rd Meeting Re Balance of tyres. Dec. 5. 11. Mr. Nadin submitted a letter from the Dunlop Pneumatic Tyre Co. dated Dec. 22nd. concerning the balance of tyres. The gist of their letter was that they were not in a position to guarantee their tyres to a | ||
