C O P Y. Oy9/G19.8.20. August, 19th 1920. Mr. Claude Johns-on. Managing Director. Rolls-Royce Ltd., 15 Conduit St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} London, England. X425151 RE: SUGGESTED CHANGES OF DESIGN. Dear Sir, Referring to our Report No.7 on "New chassis Troubles," you will notice that Mr. Gardner reports electrical troubles on this chassis and mentions that no provision is made in our wiring system for a fuse in the lamp circuits. I have looked at our wiring diagram, and Mr. Gardner's statement appears to be correct. I would draw this strongly to the attention of the Engineering Department at Derby, because it appears to me that great danger of fire is involved by the lack of a fuse in these circuits, and if no fuse is at present used, I think it should be inserted as soon as possible, if for no other reason than the excessive insurance premiums which will be demanded if the matter should come to the knowledge of the insurance companies. Very truly yours, Rolls-Royce of America. Inc. Per (Sgd) M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley. MO/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} CC. Mr. Nadin. Mr. Belnap. Mr. Keim. Mr. Bagnall.
