Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/Sd11/W15.3.40. re: OILS RECOMMENDED FOR STORAGE OF CARS. Some little time ago we sent you, under cover of our Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/Sd18/MW17.1.40., an original letter from Price's Lubricants Ltd., on the above question, to which you replied as per your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/JH20.1.40. For your information, we are enclosing herewith the complete correspondence which passed between ourselves and Price's Ltd. at that time. Our reason for now referring the matter to you again, is the attached letter from Price's Ltd. dated 11th March, from which you will note that it has developed into a question of general policy, and as such, is one with which we are unable to deal. Referring to the second and third paragraphs of their letter, we would say that the memorandum, to which mention is made, is one issued by London. Their recommendation of Mobiloil "BB" is doubtless taken from an Instruction Book, in which (both Bentley & Rolls-Royce) Mobiloil "BB" and Wakefield's Aero C. are the only two mentioned as being suitable mineral oils. Will you kindly give this matter your due consideration, and reply direct to Price's Ltd. returning to us our earlier correspondence when you have finished with it. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/Sd. | ||
