For the attention of Mr.F.Ll.Smith.

Dear Sirs,

We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 1st.inst., and referring to the first paragraph thereof, would again take the opportunity of assuring you that the points indicated therein are receiving our attention.

In connection with the faulty machining of the 13½" driven plate hubs supplied by you, would advise that our only criticism was in connection with the bottom diameter of the splines, and you will no doubt arrange to take care of this particular point on future supplies.

We were interested to hear that preliminary tests carried out by you on clutch plate lined with "Ferodo No.6" material has proved satisfactory, and we shall be further interested to have your comments on this material after you have had an opportunity of giving same an extended trial. In the meantime, we are of course continuing with our arrangements for "Hyco" to be obtainable in this country.

We have not yet received driven plate No. 5, but upon receipt will let you have our observations regarding the collapse of the moulded friction material.

We were pleased to receive your agreement to pass the cost involved in stripping and re-building 41 clutches with S.82 material eyebolts.

Con't........
