RE 40/50 HP. FRONT WING STAYS.

With reference to S27/M.24.9.26. the wing stays in question were designed by R.{Sir Henry Royce} and suitable for EAC.VIII chassis. These step irons have been produced experimentally and fitted to EAC.VIII chassis in accordance with R's instructions, but so far as the present Phantom production is concerned, we do not intend to fit them without Sales' permission.

In addition to the fact that these wing stays are R.R. design, and consequently lighter and neater than those fitted by Coachbuilders, they are arranged for supporting the head lamps, similar to what is done on the 20 HP. chassis, and we gained the impression that Sales desire to have these pieces since they wrote to us some time ago asking when they would be introduced.

Although the Standardization Sheet is being circulated, we shall take no further action so far as production chassis are concerned, in view of BJ's memo to R.{Sir Henry Royce}
