NOTES OF PRELIMINARY MEETING IN WOR{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'S ROOM TO GO THROUGH MINUTES FRIDAY NOV: 25th, 1932. PRESENT WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Rg.{Mr Rowledge} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} CHASSIS ITEMS NOT ON Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s AGENDA FOR NOV: 29th. Item No.on Agenda of Nov.2nd. (1) Previous item No.13. Increased braking to front wheels. P.II. Standardisation sheet fully completed. Number of chassis on which it will be introduced has yet to be fixed. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says it is not wise to increase the front braking on 20/25 as no axle control is fitted. (1) Previous item No.16. Steering Controls Modified. Were not fitted to Peregrine recently sent to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} en route to France as was intended. Will be available for inspection on Tuesday (Conference day) fitted to Peregrine III. (8) Over-heating Complaints. The complaints are being dealt with as they arise. It has been decided by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that it is not wise to carry a stock of matrices owing to the varying sizes of the different types. Each one will be made up as required to deal with each individual case. At present only one is being supplied and that is for chassis 116-GN. (Baron de la{L. A. Archer} Graviere.) (10) Powerplus Supercharger. This question is not yet settled but it can be dealt with amicably if we pay the Powerplus people a certain sum toward their expenses. Although we are not obliged to do this it may be good policy to do so to keep their goodwill. Not on Agenda. Engines for Light Tanks. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} raises the following points in relation to tank engines. (A) War Office has altered position of oil tank and this involves further development work to prove out the change in installation. A further contract is required for this work. (B) War Office now require further work on ignition screening. Further contract is required for this. | ||
