RE PETROL TANK SIDE FILLER. With further reference to this point, since writing you last night we have considered that it might be preferred to positively lock the nut which pulls up the filter. We originally thought that the long springy stud and the fibre washer should be sufficient lock, and we expect it would be if it were properly tightened up, but as there may be a danger that it would not be properly tightened, we have considered how we could fit a lock and have shewn it in an additional Fig 2 view on "N" Scheme 517 of which we send you a fresh print. We have also considered that there may a slight difficulty in getting the filter out if it should stick at all, though it does not appear to us to be a very serious one. In case this is so, the serrations which we provide for the lock would be useful as a means of getting hold of the filter. We have also taken the opportunity of shewing a different form of the teeth and the grip of the big nut which appears to us to be lighter, and probably more comfortable to handle. We should be glad if you would replace the print at first sent you by this new one.
