Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X6032 BY3/G.2.7.30. RE BUZZER TYPE HORNS. We are sending you herewith two sample horns which we have obtained for expefimental purposes from the Lucas Company. These horns are the two types which are closest in their performance to the Bosch type. The mechanism for producing the sound is the same in both types, the variation is due to the shape of the trumpet end. We have tested these horns ourselves in conjunction with Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} in order to form a basis upon which to act as to whether we could recommend the Lucas horn in place of the Bosch. Our view was, the Lucas horn with the straight trumpet when operated under the bonnet was quite good, but it still falls somewhat short of the Bosch for niceness of tone and penetration. BY.{R.W.
