This carburetter is provided for starting Engine from cold only. It is correctly set when leaving the Works & should not be readjusted. (When engine is warm it should start without use of starter carburetter). The engine must never be run longer than is absolutely necessary with the starter carburetter in use. Gradually open throttle by governor lever and close starter carburetter with carb.mixture lever in "strong" position. Not more than ½ min. on starter carburetter should be required. Excessive use of starter carburetter may lead to failure of engine lubrication & consequent seizure of pistons, owing to dilution of oil by petrol. Failure to start may be due to over-use of starter carburetter, or adjustment grossly over-rich. With correct adjustment engine should, when cold, run evenly and continuously. | ||
