Re Universal Joints faulty on old type cars.
---------------------
W.H.Samuel's Car.
---------------------

The front universal joint on the old type back axle was faulty inasmuch as the split pins on the ends of the driving pin were cut through by the action of the universal joint, and so allowed the driving pin to work through the case.

This, if I remember rightly, was overcome long ago by fixing the driving pin in position by a split taper pin through the centre of the knuckle joint.

This job (if not already done so) should be fixed on the standard list of jobs to be done by Repair Dept. or other Departments of the Company (Page St or Paris) on all such cars as come in for repairs, R.D.W. or R.D.D. and all cars at present out with this fault should be altered at once.
