With reference to your query regarding the quality of Maconit H.T. cable, resulting from a case of failure which you showed to me, we have taken a sample length from immediate production for test. The middle of this length was immersed in water for 46 hours, after which it was tested at 18900 volts R.M.S., i.e. 26700 volts peak, for 15 minutes without failure. It would appear that there can be no doubt that the fault experienced must have been the result of some mechanical damage to the cable in the first instance. EFC. | ||
