YOUR REF: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}8/R.{Sir Henry Royce} OUR REF: HEP/BMT.464. FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited, DERBY. For the attention of S.H.Grylls, Esq. 23rd. November, 1936. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 18th., and have passed your sketch to our Works. We have explained that the track of the new wheel will require to be set out by half the amount of the increase of the 6.00-17 type on the 5.00 rim over the 5.50 on the 3.25, which is .475". We trust this track alteration will not militate against the usefulness of your tests. We have not yet finalised details of the plant necessary to produce these wheels, and hope to have some information on this in the course of the next day or so. Yours faithfully, FOR THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO.LTD., Manager, Car Manfrs. Division. | ||
