We have examined the leaves of the broken spring F.5358, and, all are O.K.; but for the top leaf which broke right accross 3.5" rear of center bolt. We believe that the mark of the makers has been the primary cause of the fracture; the J which is deeply sunk into the plate, follows the line of fracture as shown by the sketch. G.W.HANCOCK.
