SECRET.
'SS{S. Smith}' CARS.

We are very anxious that you shall have a 'SS{S. Smith}' car at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence as soon as possible because the running the car does with you represents the kind of running the car will get in customers hands.

Our proposal is to bring 19-EX car fitted with a Hooper Sedanca body to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence arriving there about Jan. 5th. or 6th. We expect by that time the 10,000 miles test on 18-EX will be practically completed. We shall therefore be able to discuss with you the results.

We expect to have carried out modifications to 19-EX to improve the features which it has been agreed require attention

We shall leave 19-EX car at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence and bring away 14-EX which I shall bring back to Derby.

As regards 18-EX which is now running the 10,000 miles test. We do not propose to bring this car back to England after the 10,000 miles is completed but will carry out the examination at Chateauroux. When this is completed Mr. Hancock will deliver to you 18-EX and bring away 19-EX. Tests at Chateauroux will be continued with 19-EX car.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
