Main cyl. extra oil pipe broken. | 1259 | Electrical system failed. | 2361 | Short circuit in switch box - broken wire. Water in petrol system. | 2611 | Purchased petrol contained water. A.T. speedometer mileage recorder not functioning. | 27321 | Several teeth stripped off driving pinion of mileage recorder. N.S. rear brake rope nearly frayed through where it passes through spring support bracket. | 6540 | New brake rope made and fitted. Inside support bracket for O.S. rear spring king-pin broken. | 7383 | No.5 big end bearing run. | 9911 | No. 5 piston taken out and test finished on 5 cyls. Windscreen broken. Front wing stay broken (twice) Front wings continually splitting. | | MILEAGE OF TEST - 10,458 - AVERAGE SPEED 34.23 m.p.h. At the end of this test the brakes on this car had completed 31,080 miles. The work done on them being only - one new rear brake rope fitted and rear brakes re-lined once. Front brake toggle actuating shafts were very loose in their bearings.
