-2- Referring to the fractured roller which we are returning to you, at the end of the test the roller was fractured right through at section marked AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson} and half way through on section marked BB. We attach a table shewing the results of our rig tests up-to-date. Concerning the various rollers which you are making for us, will you please arrange for the following - Rollers to your B.9828 (0.312. dia balls.) 1. Repair and fit new inners to one outer which we have already handed to you. 2. Supply a further two assemblies complete, using the two inners which were intended for the broken outer. Rollers to your X.2737.C. and X.2737.D. Increase number of assemblies from 4 to 6 in each case (all with 0.050 added to inners.) Our Order Office are sending you an official order for the above work. We are looking into the question of the limits on the rollers you are supplying to our Production Dept. and will arrange for an official decision on this question to be sent to you. We shall soon be held up for the small rollers and we should be glad if you could give us a date for delivery and at the same time make every effort to keep this within 10 days. Will you please return the fractured roller at your convenience. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
