Acknowledging your letter of the 2nd. in connection with the above, the writer endeavoured to telephone you to-day but without success. We are unable to understand your comments in regard to the receipt of four tyres against the above order as we cannot trace any similar dispatches. As explained to Mr. Grylls, at the time these tyres were under discussion it was doubtful whether we had available any of the old Fort "90" pattern. On checking our stock at Fort Dunlop and also at our Depots, we confirm that we are unable to locate two tyres, and under the circumstances we shall be glad to have your instructions regarding the completion of this order. We can, of course, supply the new tread pattern. It may be possible that the tyres to which you refer in your letter were those supplied some little time ago with four and six ply casings for special cornering tests.
