battery considerably. It may be, however, as you suggest, that the present drive begins to slip.

Beyond the point at which the regulator begins to operate the driving torque would appear, for a given current, to decrease with increase of speed, so that it would seem that once over this point matters would improve. Is it possible that owing to slipping the rope drive, you have not reached this point?
