Issue with a thermometer tube breaking due to flexible engine mounting and the proposed solution.

This car is fitted with flexible engine mounting and we have had two cases of the thermometer tube breaking where it entered the cylinder head, apparently caused by greater strain on the tube due to the increased engine movement.

To try and overcome this trouble we have clipped the tube to the cylinder head, thereby eliminating the vibration at this point, and given three coils in the tube between the clip and the dash, to allow for the engine movement (sketch attached).

We are now watching this on test.
