X5783do To HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from EFC. c. SFT{Mr Swift}/Mr.Brock. EFCL/11.7.27. 20 HP. DYNAMO NO.775 EX CHASSIS GAK.5. Customer's complaint is that this dynamo "fails to charge". On putting this on our rig and running it, we found that it charged straight away, without having done anything to the machine. The output is somewhat on the high side, due to the control brush being 4 or 5º too far retarded. Also the control brush has been inserted the wrong way round, which may at that time have made the output even larger than at present. The commutator solder has just started to run, but has not run sufficiently to impair the connections. The positive brush spring tends to jam in the brush slot, which is a shade too narrow. We noticed also that the commutator end bearing plate screws were loose, as the machine was received by us. We return the dynamo herewith to HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} EFC. | ||
