Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/KT.3.5.33. BENTLEY PETROL PUMP TO LEC.3417. Attached are two curves showing the performance of this petrol pump. Actually on the chassis we find that the delivery of the pump is reduced owing to the overheating of the pipe line passing over the exhaust system. Furthermore the carburetter needle valves obstruct the delivery somewhat; we are getting the exact particulars of the amount. It would appear, however, that this pump will give sufficient delivery if the suction pipe is kept cooler, and the pipe from the pump to the carburetter is increased to 5/16" diameter. We still consider that the best material available for the fabrics is one layer of A.C. fabric and one layer of pig bladder, as used on the S.U. petrol pump. The question of priming from a dry pipe line still causes us considerable concern and to help this we are asking for a smaller capacity filter bowl. Graph 2. shows the increase in delivery when the carburetters are on the same level as the petrol pump. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
