| GRY{Shadwell Grylls} - a nice cheap repair OWNER'S COMPLAINT REPORT BENTLEY 3 1/2 4 1/4 Chassis No. B.60.GA. Delivery Date 24.4.36 Owner: F.B.A. Ltd. (Trials Car), 25, Rue Gide, LEVALLOIS-PERRET, Seine Report No. F.2. Type of Body: 2 Door Fixed Cabriolet Mileage: 39,400 Miles Date: 20.8.37. Owner's Complaint: Rear axle very noisy. Cause: Fracture of the extension piece of the rear axle pinion which carries the roller bearing. Work done: Dismantled the rear axle and fitted a new set of gears. Fitted a new thrust bearing to pinion. Fitted new oil seals. Remarks: Although the axle pinion failed as mentioned above, the car was driven to our Workshops and therefore did not have to be rescued. We have observed that the new gears which we have fitted are an improvement on the ones removed, inasmuch as the extension piece of the pinion has been altered in design and strengthened. We had to fit a new thrust bearing to the pinion, owing to the original one having been damaged by the failure of the original pinion. Approx. Cost L.£28 Company Cost. Recommended by VA. Approved by VA. Letter has been sent to Customer by | ||
