WST Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 13th instant, reference Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Wst.13/MA, although up to the present we have not found it necessary to use a battery master switch on any of our machines, I would not like to say that in the future it might not prove desirable to do so. It rather depends on what future experience tends to show. From one view-point one could say that it is less necessary to design machines from the point of view of crashing, but electrical equipment is going to figure much more prominently in the auxiliary services on aircraft and may prove to be a very real source of danger in the event of a crash.
