X.3717 - NICKEL IRON ALKALINE BATTERIES Please find attached copy of information with regard to nickel iron alkaline batteries for chassis, with which Mr. G.R.N. Minchin of the Peto & Radford Co. has supplied us. A great deal of this information is the result of Mr. Minchin's own personal experience with batteries of this type on his own R.R. car, and he would rather that the information be considered as coming from him personally rather than from his firm. The reason for this is that he does not wish the information to be taken as any final official assertion on the part of his firm with regard to the qualities of nickel iron alkaline batteries. No doubt, however, from our point of view, it may be considered that his opinion represents the present opinion of his firm in the matter. We suggest that Mr. Minchin should be thanked for this information independently of this Dept., as it may save this firm a good deal of experimenting. It does not appear that we should gain very much by further experimenting with nickel iron batteries at this stage. EFC. | ||
